Mohiuddin Binanah, interim Minister of Education, said that more than 150,000 Syrian college students are deprived of university education as a result of the ongoing conflict, and that the Ministry is seeking to enable them to continue their education in Turkish and international universities. Binanah’s remarks were made during a meeting with a U.S delegation headed by a professor in humanities and history. He said that he would prepare a detailed report on the status of university students who are not currently receiving educations, The reports will also shed light on hundreds of Syrian academics who defected from the Assad regime and are unable to continue their research or teaching. The report will be submitted to the International Education Organization which has a fund to support scientific and educational activities. (Source: Syrian Interim Government)
