Mohiuddin Binanah, interim Minister of Education, toured examinations centers in rebel-held areas of Aleppo and Idlib provinces to check on the students and administrative staff supervising the exams. The minister met the students and teachers in these centers and was briefed on the obstacles to the educational process and ways to overcome them, most notably the Assad regime’s deliberate targeting of schools. Students expressed their determination to continue their education and obtain the certificate to enroll in university entrance, and stresses that Assad’s barbaric bombardment will not weaken their resolve to achieve their goals and aspirations. The minister also spoke to students and reassured them of the interim government’s unrelenting support to their cause, including obtaining an international recognition of the high school certificate which will be issued upon the end of year’s exams, in addition to obtaining scholarships to study in the Turkish and other universities.
