The Health Directorate of Idlib and its countryside lectured doctors and a number of interested people on the nature of the measles disease, its symptoms and methods of treatment. The lecture referred to the current situation of the disease in Syria and the best ways to prevent the increase of infection, and also to the problems and difficulties that may face the vaccination teams when carrying out the vaccination campaign. It is worth noting that the vaccination campaign against measles will be held soon in the liberated areas in collaboration with the Health Directorate of Idlib and a number of organizations. Measles is an acute infectious disease occurring mostly in children, characterized by catarrhal and febrile symptoms and an eruption of small red spots, and can sometimes causes dangerous complications. Doctors without Borders said in June that there are around 7,000 cases of measles in Syria. (Source: Syrian Interim Government)
