The interim Ministry of Health released a report on the work of the Physical Therapy Center Ibn al-Shahid which was opened in March 1st, 2014 in the town of Al Bara in rural Idlib. According to the report, 3573 treatment sessions have been performed as of July 12, at a rate of 20 sessions for each patient. The center consists of three wards: electroconvulsive therapy, physical, and lumbar pain. The center comprises four specialist doctors, two sports specialists, assistant physical therapist and two administrative officials. It is the only center that provides physical therapy to the town and its surroundings. It is estimated that so far it has provided services to around 30,000 people, add to this that the therapists visits the patients whose condition do not allow them to receive treatment at the center. The report pointed out that the center needs to be equipped with children ward as there are thirty children with cerebral palsy in the area and its surroundings. (Source: Interim Ministry of Health)
