Jaish Alislam, the largest rebel group in Damascus and its suburbs, announced the launch of a second offensive in less than a week to attack regime positions in eastern Qalmoun area northeast of Damascus. The offensive began with attacking and destroying an arms depot belonging to regime forces. Nearly 20 pro-regime militants were reportedly killed and injured in the rebel offensive.
Jaish Alislam also launched another offensive against regime positions in eastern Ghouta. Rebel fighters said they captured Housh Nasri bastion and the surrounding farmlands on Monday.
In southern rural Hama, rebel and FSA fighters said they repelled attempts by regime forces to advance on the towns of Zara and Harbnafsah. Around 10 pro-regime militants were reportedly killed in the failed attack.
In Aleppo, meanwhile, the Abu Amara FSA group said they captured a regime army officer and a group of pro-regime militants late on Saturday while trying to sneak into the Sadkop sector in the Ramousah area in south of the city. (Source: Syrian Coalition + Agencies)
