The Kurdish National Council, a Syrian Coalition’s block, condemns the terrorist acts practiced by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) against whoever disagrees with its policies. These acts include kidnapping, arrest and forced recruitment. The Kurdish National Council also condemns the PYDs’ bullying of other Kurdish political blocs in Syria.
A Kurdish National Council statement stresses that these unilateral practices have caused and continue to cause more people to leave their homes in fear.
The Kurdish National Council stated that the PYD has stepped up raid and arrest campaigns, forced recruitment and the kidnapping of minors, stressing that such practices will not thwart its struggle for its Kurdish national project in Syria.
It calls on the PYD to desist from such abusive practices against other Kurds and their nationalist cause in Syria, demanding the immediate release of Hassan Ramadan and Saad Ibrahim Yassin and his son Ibrahim and all prisoners of conscience in its prisons. It also calls for stopping all arrest campaigns and forced recruitment against young Kurds.
It pointed out that the PYD is carrying out these violations under false pretexts and unsubstantiated accusations against whoever disagrees with its policies.
The latest dissident detained by the PYD is Mahmoud Awjeh, former member of Al-Hasaka local council and Akram Khalaf, member of the democratic students union and Jalal Mohammad, member of Kurdish Democratic Party – Syria. Moreover, the PYD still detains Hassan Ramadan, leader of the Kurdish Democratic Party – Syria, Asa’ad Ramadan and his son of the Kurdish Democratic Party and Mohammed Shwish, member of the Kurdish National Council in Syria and many others.
