The Kurdish Local Council distributed relief aid for 500 displaced families who fled the town of Ain al-Arab (Kobanî) and are living near the Turkish border. The aid included mainly winter clothing and wheat flour. Mahmoud Kalou, member of the provincial council, said that refugees are in urgent need of humanitarian aid, most importantly housing, food, water and means of heating. He pointing out that the delivery of aid to approximately 200,000 refugees who fled Ain al-Arab has slowed up as a result of bad weather, calling on relief organizations to help meet the refugees’ needs whose suffering is increasing day by day.
The Syrian Coalition earlier budgeted 200,000 USD to help the Syrian refugees who fled Ain al-Arab shortly after they were forced out of their homes. The aid included 3,0000 food parcels that were delivered to the refugees in the Turkish cities of Gaziantep, Suruj and Urfa. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
