Hundreds of people demonstrated in several areas across northern Syria on Friday to denounce the aggression of Hay’at Tahrir Alsham (HTS) against the Free Syrian Army and civilians in the liberated areas.
Activists in rural Idlib said that dozens of people gathered in the town of Binnish after Friday prayers to protest against HTS practices. Demonstrators, including FSA commanders called for ending the infighting in rural Idlib and for all weapons to be directed against the Assad regime and the Iranian militias.
Activists added that hundreds of people demonstrated in the towns of Maarat Almou’man and Jarjanaz. Demonstrators waved the flag of the revolution and condemned HTS practices as well as stressed the need for the FSA groups to confront the Assad regime and Alqaeda.
In rural Aleppo, dozens of people demonstrated against HTS practices as they reiterated support for the FSA and called on rebels groups within the Shield of the Euphrates operations room to confront HTS aggression.
Moreover, dozens of people demonstrated in the town of Talbessa in northern rural Homs to emphasize the revolution continues against the Assad regime and the Iranian militias as well as to condemn HTS practices in northern Syria and rural Hama.
Smart News Network said that a large anti-HTS demonstrations went out in the town of Saraqib in rural Idlib on Thursday. Demonstrators raised the flag of the Syrian revolution and placards reading “Sarqib is ruled by its people,” and chanted slogans demanding that HTS leave the town.
The Network added that HTS fighters threatened the demonstrators with RPGs, prompting the demonstrators to storm a HTS-controlled courthouse. HTS fighters eventually withdrew from the town through mediation by some townsmen.
The Syrian Coalition condemned the attacks being carried out by Hay’at Tahrir Alsham (HTS) against civilians as well as its harassment and prosecution of civilians in Idlib. The Coalition also condemned HTS killing of unarmed persons.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the Coalition stressed that any group involved in infighting and that directs its weapons against unarmed civilians in denunciation of the principles and aspirations of the Syrian people cannot be a part of the Syrian revolution but stands on the side of the Assad regime and its backers.
