Launch of “My School” Campaign to Support Education In Aleppo

The Office of Education and Culture of Aleppo local council announced the launching of “My School” campaign to support school boys in Aleppo province. On this occasion, the Office of Education asked school principals to submit a list of names and number to be able to take advantage of the available support. The campaign will begin on Saturday, April 5, 2014. The Syrian interim government has approved the allocation of $1.75 million USD to support the education sector in Syria and neighboring countries during its weekly meeting last Friday, March 28, 2014 in the Turkish city of Gaziantep. The interim government has agreed to allocate “$1.5 million USD to pay salaries of teachers working in the Syrian governorates for a period of six months, in addition to $165,000 USD for the maintenance of 55 schools in various Syrian provinces, and another $100,000 USD to support stalled schools in Turkey and neighboring countries for a period of 4 months.
