The ‘Deir Ezzor 24’ news network published a video showing militants of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) executing a whole family in eastern rural Deir Ezzor. The incident is just one of the many violations the PYD militia is committing against civilians during the military operations it launched against the ISIS extremist group.
The Network pointed out that the incident took place near the town of Al-Bagouz, ISIS’s last foothold in Syria. It said that the victims, a mother and her children, have not been identified yet.
The Network also said that a PYD checkpoint prevented residents of the village of Al-Baqan in eastern Deir Ezzor from returning to their homes, warning of plans by the PYD militia to change the demographic landscape in the region.
The PYD militants also set civilian cars on fire near the al-Azraq oil field east of Deir Ezzor city. They also carried out mass arrests in several villages and towns in the region.
The incident came just a few days after a female rights activist was hospitalized after she was brutally beaten by PYD militants in the city of Raqqa. The physical assault came in response to the activist’s criticism of the PYD militias’ violations against unarmed civilians in the areas under their control.
The PYD militias’ repeated violations against civilians have caused a wave of protests in many of the villages under the militia’s control. Rights groups called for the launch of investigations into these violations and for holding those responsible accountable. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
