Dozens of demonstrations took place in the provinces of Idlib, Hama and Aleppo, after Friday prayers under the title “we will topple Assad to rebuild the country.” Demonstrators also demonstrated their solidarity with the refugees currently trapped in the Rukban refugee camp near the Jordanian-Syrian border.
Demonstrators held signs calling for the overthrow of the Assad regime and the release of detainees who are being subjected to the most brutal methods of torture. They also raised signs expressing solidarity with refugees currently trapped in the Rukban refugee camp.
The demonstrators chanted slogans calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations to exercise pressure on the Assad regime to lift the blockade on the Rukban refugee camp and allow the entry of food and medical supplies.
The biggest demonstrations took place in the town of Ma’aret al-Nu’man, Kafranbel, Khan Sheikhoun, Harim, Ariha, Binnish, Ma’ret Misrin, Killi, Kafarouma, as well as many villages.
Demonstrations also took place in many towns and villages in Hama and Aleppo provinces, most notably in the towns of al-Atareb and al-Bab in rural Aleppo as well as in the town of Qalet Al-Madiq in rural Hama.
Northern Syria has seen renewed mass demonstrations for the seventh consecutive week calling for the overthrow of the Assad regime and condemning the aggression on these areas by the Assad regime, Russia and Iran. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
