Intensive aerial bombardment by the Assad regime and Russian air forces has knocked five more hospitals in the province of Dara’a as part of the fierce onslaught being launched in the province and which began a few days ago.
Local activists said that violent airstrikes directly targeted more vital civilian facilities in Dara’a province on Wednesday. The management of the main hospital in the town of Sayda announced that it suspended work in the facility “until further notice” because of the deteriorating situation in the area and for fear of the intense bombings by the Assad regime and its allies.
A field hospital in the town of Musaifra was also put out of service after it was hit by suspected Russian jets. The airstrikes also knocked out hospitals in the towns of Al-Hirak, Basr al-Harir, and al-Jiza.
Civil defense centers in the towns of Musaifra and Nawa were also put out of service after they were hit by intense Assad regime airstrikes.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Negotiations Commission called for an emergency session of the UN Security Council to discuss the war crimes being committed by the Assad regime and its allies in Dara’a. It also demanded an immediate halt to military operations which are violating all international resolutions on Syria.
A few days ago, the Assad regime began a large-scale military offensive in eastern rural Dara’a and the adjacent western rural Suweida, carrying out intensive aerial bombardment as well as artillery and rocket shelling on rebel-held areas. The bombings killed and injured dozens of civilians, including women and children as well as caused massive destruction to civilian homes and infrastructure.
