The Deir Ezzor 24 news network published a gruesome video showing militants of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) cold-bloodedly executing a mother and her baby in eastern Deir Ezzor province. It said that it did not publish the entire video because it contained “horrific scenes.”
The Network pointed out that the crime took place on the outskirts of the town of Al-Bagouz in Deir Ezzor province, the scene of the final battle against the ISIS extremist group.
The leaked video showed just one of the PYD’s countless violations against civilians in the region. In February, the network published another video showing the PYD militia executing a whole family, including a mother and her children.
Local activists pointed to recent increase in war crimes against civilians by the PYD militia in the region. The Syrian Coalition earlier said these actions constituted “war crimes” as demanded that those responsible be held to account.
Several reports by rights groups indicated the death of many detainees in the prisons of the PYD militias under torture. Human rights organizations called for the launch of a serious investigation into those violations and for holding those responsible to account. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
