Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU) said that around 600,000 people in Daraa, Quneitra, and some areas of rural Damascus have benefited from the relief aid provided by ACU. The relief aid delivered by ACU included around 70,000 food parcels, 470 tons of dates, 1,500 tons of flour, 200 packages of baby milk, hundreds of packages of green honey, canned food, 300 tons of rice, 21,000 liters of plant oil, 12,000 pajamas, 20,000 baby suits, 21,000 pieces of clothing, 2,600 packages of clothes, 250 packages of shoes, 20,000 blankets, and 2000 mattresses. In response to the growing medical needs in southern Syria, ACU delivered around 2,800 packages of medicine, 500 packages of clothes for patients and the medical staff, medical apparatuses. ACU’s team toured the three camps for the internally displaced people. Work is underway to equip the camps with facilities of sanitation, kitchens and all the requirements of water and sanitation. ACU sent a letter of thanks to Saudi Arabia and Jordan for their great efforts to provide aid to the Syrian people, and also to relief organizations, including Saudi Arabia’s National Campaign, UAE’s Red Crescent, Medical Aid Organization, Doctors Without Borders, Horan Islamic Organization, USAID, SRD, SAMS, IRD, and the Norwegian Council for Refugees. Furthermore, ACU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the administration of Atma refugee camp to provide it with 4,503 food parcels. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
