The Syrian Women’s Association on Thursday organized a panel discussion on activating the role of Syria’s women in civil society organizations and local councils in Aleppo in cooperation with Aleppo provincial council.
The panel discussion, the fourth of its kind to be held in Aleppo, aims to raise awareness among heads of organizations and local councils about the role of women in building civil society.
Last week, the association organized a similar panel discussion about the difficulties faced by Syrian women in the headquarters of Aleppo’s provincial council. The panel was part of the “Building Confidence” project which is supported by Bda’el Foundation.
The Syrian Women’s Association, which was founded in early 2015, is concerned in the affairs of widowed and divorced women providing material and psychological support for them. It also organizes campaigns to raise awareness among women and seek to activate their role and increase their social activity. (Source: Smart News Agency)
