Father Michelle Naaman calls upon the Syrian authorities to disclose the fate of the Christian girls and young men who have been recently kidnaped in Homs. Informed sources told Al Arabiya.net that the abductees are most likely incarcerated in Assad’s prisons, while activists in Homs said that the kidnappings were most probably carried out by pro-regime paramilitary forces, known in Syria as “shabiha”, against Christians who have recently returned to their homes in the city of Homs. They also said that the kidnappers are demanding huge ransoms to release the abductees, pointing out that these kidnappings have become one of the main reasons that have prompted many Christian families to leave the city of Homs, now under the control of the Assad regime.
