The Assad regime and Russian warplanes continue to launch brutal attacks on Aleppo for the ninth consecutive day, hitting the city with all types of bombs and missiles.
Over 15 airstrikes hit the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo this morning, resulting in many civilian casualties in the neighborhoods of Al-Mwasalat, Al-Ma’asaraniya, Al-Hulluk, Tarqi al-Bab, Bab al-Nayrab and Aziza.
Activists said the regime and its Russian allies are following a ‘double tap’ tactic whereby jets return to bomb the same target after rescue workers and first responders had gathered to help the victims with the aim to inflict maximum damage.
An Al-Jazeera reporter said that the Assad regime and Russian warplanes have conducted no fewer than 40 airstrikes on Aleppo since Friday morning.
At least 17 civilians were killed and dozens injured by airstrikes on the rebel-held parts of the city on Friday. A warehouse for storing medicine was destroyed in an airstrike on the Al-Mwasalat district, while five people were killed and dozens more injured when a regime helicopter dropped a barrel bomb hitting a medical center in the neighborhood of Bustan al-Qasr on Friday.
