The local council in the town of Azaz in northern rural Aleppo announced the opening of a Real Estate Register to record real estate property as well as prevent fraud and unlawful disposal of property.
In a statement on Wednesday, the council said that the Register would manage all real estate transactions in Azaz and its sub-districts. It asked citizens who want to conduct real estate transactions to go to the department or the competent court in line with the legal procedures.
Head of the Real Estate Register Muhammed Taljbini told Baladi News Network that the move aims to register the ownership of real estate and all other transactions in the region.
Taljbini said that the registration of real estate property has put an end to the fraud that was taking place, pointing out that the local council now has a backup of all the real estate records in the town. Such move will reassure investors and boost real estate trade as it protects the people’s property rights.
There has been recent boom in real estate and construction projects in northern rural Aleppo following the launch of residential projects in the region and increasing investment in real estate.
The newspaper said that the sale and purchase of property is taking place according to an installment payment system in the form of contracts signed between investors and people of the region and the people who displaced from the rest of the Syrian provinces.
