Continuing the counter offensive to drive pro-regime forces out of southern rural Aleppo, rebel fighters re-captured the villages of Tal Bajir, Makhala, Khirbet Kusa and the town of Banis after a surprise attack on regime forces yesterday.
Rebel fighters also targeted regime positions in Al-Eis and Banjira hills and in the village of Aziziyah with mortar shells and homemade rockets. Over 30 pro-regime and Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps militants were killed in the attack. They also captured an Iranian mercenary.
These rebel gains come one day after the collapse of in the ranks of Assad, Hezbollah and Iranian militias in southern rural Aleppo. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
