Rebel fighters re-captured the woods near the town of Khan Tuman in southern rural Aleppo yesterday after violent clashes with pro-regime foreign militias. The clashes were accompanied by intense Russian air strikes on rebel positions in the area as well as on the town of Khan al-Asal southwest of Aleppo.
Rebel fighters destroyed a tank belonging to pro-regime forces near Khan Tuman yesterday. Activists published photos and videos of bodies of many pro-regime foreign militiamen who were killed during the clashes with rebel fighters near Khan Tuman.
The Russian air force struck the towns Azaz, Marea, Malikiya and Mranaz in northern rural Aleppo.
Meanwhile, the Turkish army targeted ISIS positions near the Turkish-Syrian border. Backed by artillery fire from the Turkish army, rebel fighters advanced on the villages of Ghazal, Bghedein and Khalaftli near the Turkish border. A number of rebel fighters were injured in an explosion of a landmine planted by ISIS militants in Bghedein.
Nearly 10 civilians were killed and dozens injured yesterday in a Russian airstrike on a market in the town of Tadif in rural Aleppo, while five more were killed in a similar attack on the town of Hayyan.
