Activists said that rebels had blown up a tunnel they dug under regime forces’ headquarters near Citadel of Aleppo, killing and injuring a number of pro-regime militants. Regime forces previously blew up a number of buildings on the perimeter of the citadel, causing massive damage to the ancient masjid of Al Sultaniya. Meanwhile, clashes between rebels and regime forces continue to rage in the area and in several areas of Dara’a province. Rebels advanced on Damascus-Dara’a highway and the strategic city of Izraa’, the last line of defense of Rural Damascus. Regime forces carried out aerial shelling on Beit Sahim, Khan al-Sheeh, Darwasha, Douma and Sasa in rural Damascus, causing civilian casualties and material damage.
