Activists said that rebel fighters yesterday recaptured Hadada hill near the town of Kansaba in northern rural Latakia after heavy clashes with regime forces. Rebels also took control of the town of Ard al-Watta in the same area after a surprise attack that resulted in the killing of three pro-regime militants and the capture of two more.
In Aleppo province, rebel fighters attacked the PYD militias’ positions in the town of Ain Daqna north of Aleppo, with reports of PYD losses. Sporadic clashes continue in the outskirts of the town.
Rebel fighters in Darayya yesterday repelled a regime attack on the southern part of the district located west of Damascus, destroying a tank and killing nine pro-regime militants, some of them Iraqis. Regime forces pounded the district with no fewer than 35 barrel bombs and six surface-to-surface missiles, killing one civilians and wounding dozens more.
Meanwhile, Russia intensified aerial bombardment on northern and western rural Aleppo on Thursday. Activists said that a family of eight was killed in a Russian airstrike on the town of Qubtan al-Jabal west of Aleppo. The airstrikes also hit the towns of Huraytan, Anadan, Kafr Hamra north of Aleppo, causing massive material damage. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
