Rebel fighters destroyed nearly 20 military army vehicles belonging to regime forces in northern rural Hama while repelling attempts by Assad’s forces to advance on the area under aerial cover from the Russian air force.
Activist said that regime forces seek to recapture the towns of Lataminah, Kafr Zeita and Atshan.
Fierce fighting has broken out since the morning in the area, with reports about heavy regime losses in equipment and personnel.
Free Syrian Army adviser Osama Abu Zeid said that there is almost certain information about the arrival of Iranian-recruited militias few days ago and that they are preparing for a military ground operation in northern Syria and in northern rural Hama. He added that that rebel commanders held a meeting to discuss plans to repel the regime’s planned offensive.
President Khoja said that the FSA has proved its ability in the first ground battle fought a week after the start of the Russian invasion of Syria, inflicting heavy losses regime forces in the battles for Morek and al-Ghab plain in rural Hama. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
