Rebel fighters said they had killed around 50 pro-regime militants, including an officer, in the ongoing clashes around Tal Qarin in rural Quneitra. They also destroyed three tanks, five vehicles and three guns belonging to regime forces.
Last week, rebel fighters launched an offensive in the area known as the Death Triangle sprawling parts of the provinces of Dara’a, Quneitra and rural Damascus.
Rebel fighters in Dara’a city said they repelled a regime attack, supported by close Russian air cover, on the neighborhood of Al-Manshiya.
The Death Triangle, scene of many battles between rebel fighters and regime forces, is a key strategic area in southwestern Syria. Capturing it will enable rebel fighters to advance on western Ghouta, Moadamiya and Darayya which are under siege by regime forces. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
