Rebels advanced on regime positions in the town of Nibbul and Al Zahraa’ northwest of Aleppo following a barrage of artillery shells that killed 11 pro-regime militants and an Iranian officer. Pro-regime forces holed up in these two bastions sent out repeated calls for aerial support to halt the rebels advance, but snowstorm hitting the region has grounded the Assad regime’s air force. Rebels also took control of three strategic positions near Handarat camp overlooking Al Bureij and the Industrial Area northeast of Aleppo. Twelve pro-regime militants were killed and dozens wounded were killed when rebels demolished a building in the district Amiriya in Aleppo. (Source: Syrian Coalition + Agencies)
