The Assad regime and Russian forces continue to violate the ceasefire in northwestern Syria as a monitoring group said that it recorded new fewer than 193 violations during the month of May.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the Emergency Response Coordinators Team said that the violations were in the form of shelling by heavy artillery, rockets, and unmanned aerial vehicle. It said that it recorded increased aerial reconnaissance activity in the region in the same month.
The Team called on the international bodies concerned with Syrian affairs to work to stabilize the ceasefire and put an end to the violations so as to allow civilians to return to their areas.
The Team also called on the humanitarian organizations to meet the needs of the returnees to their areas and the IDP as well as repair the basic installations and infrastructure in the areas the IDP are returning to. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
