Russia & Assad Regime Escalate Bombing on All Liberated Areas in Violation of Ceasefire Agreements

A total of 140 civilians were killed and dozens more were injured in intensified aerial attacks by the Assad regime and Russian air forces on several towns and villages in the liberated areas on Tuesday. Half of the victims were civilians who were killed while trying to flee the airstrikes on eastern Hama.

Local activists said that regime forces opened fire on a convoy of vehicles carrying civilian in the Wadi al-Azheeb valley in eastern rural Hama while they were trying to flee towards Idlib province via Ithirea road. The attack left at least 80 civilians dead and injured dozens more, some in critical condition, many of them women and children.

Activists in rural Idlib said that the intensifying aerial attacks by the Assad regime and Russian air forces continued against towns and villages in the province for the eighth consecutive day. The airstrikes killed and wounded dozens of civilians.

Ibrahim Abu Leith, communication officer for the civil defense in the province of Aleppo, said that six civilians were killed, including women and children and 11 more were wounded in Assad regime airstrikes on the town of Huwair al-Eiss in southern rural Aleppo.

The Assad regime and Russian air forces also raided the town of Kafarkarmin, the Reef Almihandiseen area, the towns of Atareb, Orem Alqubra, Kafarnaha, Qassimiya, Khan Alassal, Qanatir, Hajib, Tal Al-Daman, and Zirba in rural Aleppo. The bombings left dozens of civilian casualties and caused massive damage to civilian homes.

In Rural Damascus, activists and the civil defense said that Assad regime’s warplanes destroyed a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities in the town of Duma after it directly hit the facility with several missiles. The attack left six civilians killed, including a child and a person with special needs as well as wounded 40 civilians, including three members of the civil defense.

The towns of Kafarbatna, Arbeen, Harasta, Saqba, and Madyara in eastern Ghouta were subjected to violent airstrikes as well as rocket and artillery shelling. The shelling took place alongside attempts by regime forces and their allied foreign militias to advance on the districts of Joubar and Ayn Tirma east of Damascus as well as on the towns of Rayhan and Housh Aldawahra in eastern Ghouta. Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people’s unity within the same Syrian soil
is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its
symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes
against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
