Activists said that at least 25 people have been killed and dozens more injured in Assad regime and Russian airstrikes across Syria during the past 24 hours. The airstrikes mostly hit Rural Damascus, Homs and Hama. Over 50 breaches of the truce by regime forces and their allies have been recorded in the past 24 hours.
Seven people were killed in aerial and artillery bombardment by regime forces on the town of Talbeesa in northern rural Homs on Monday. Airstrikes also targeted the towns of Deirfoul and Ezzidine in rural Homs, while the towns of Rastan, Farhaniya, Kiseen, and Ghanto came under rocket artillery shelling, with no reports of casualties.
Activists in eastern rural Hama said that four children and their mother were killed in Russian airstrikes on the village of Aniq Bajarra. Other villages in eastern rural Hama have also come under heavy bombardment by the Assad regime and Russian forces.
The civil defense in Rural Damascus said that villages in the Wadi Barada valley were hit with barrel bombs as well as artillery, rocket, and tank shells on Monday. Many civilians and rescue workers were wounded and residential buildings destroyed as a result of the bombardment.
The Syrian Coalition earlier called on the international community to take action to stop breaches of the truce and violations of UN Security Council resolutions by the Assad regime and the Iranian-backed militias and consolidate the truce. Pressure must be exerted on Assad and his allies to restart the political process in accordance with the Geneva Communiqué of 2012 and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, the Coalition stressed.
