Rebels fighters fought off a new regime offensive on eastern Ghouta yesterday, destroying three Gvozdika howitzers, four tanks and two BMP armored vehicles. Dozens of pro-regime militants were either killed or injured in the failed offensive.
In a related development, pro-regime media outlets announced the death of Brigadier General and dozens pro-regime militants yesterday during clashes with rebels near the towns of Teir Maalah, Al-Ghantu, Talbeesa and Sansil in northern rural Homs. Rebel fighters have hold off the regime’s offensive despite being supported by close air cover from the Russian air force. Regime force also suffered losses in materiel, including two tanks.
