As part of the Syrian Interim Government’s (SIG) continued efforts to meet the basic needs of Syrians in the liberated areas, the General Company of Wheat Mills said it would set up a wheat mill in the town of Tal Abyad in rural Raqqa province in the coming days.
Director General of the Company, Youssef Al-Khamis, said that the new wheat mill will have a production capacity of 50 tons per day.
Al-Khamis said that the production will fully cover the needs of the region, pointing out that wheat flour will be distributed to the bakeries in and around Tal Abyad.
He indicated that the installation and trial of the new mill is expected to be completed within a period of 15 to 20 days, after which the mill will be put into active service. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
