Hossam Ahmed and Sultan Abbas won first place in the international Catalonia Badminton Championship which was held in the city of Girona near Barcelona, Spain on Saturday.
In the final match against Spain, Hossam and Sultan overwhelmed their opponents and won two clean sets. They stood on the podium to receive the award holding the flag of the Syrian revolution.
Hossam and Sultan competed against players from India, France, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, and Pakistan in the tournament which was organized by the Spanish and Catalonian badminton federations.
The winners will participate in Spain’s badminton championship to be held in January 2017. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Office)
