Eyad Al Qudsi, Deputy interim Prime Minister, met with a delegation from the General Commission for Palestinian Refugees in Syria on Friday at the headquarters of the interim government in Gaziantep, Turkey. The meeting addressed several topics related to the Palestinian refugees, most notably ensuring support for the Palestinian refugee camps in Syria, and the emphasis on the peculiarity of the national identity of the Palestinian refugees, and preserving their civil and political rights. Ayman Abu Hashem, President of the General Commission for Palestinian Refugees in Syria, pointed to the need to support the Unified Conglomerate of Yarmouk, which serves as a revolutionary and military council in the camp. Abu Hashim also calls for the formation of a body comprising, Palestinians and Syrians activists at home and abroad, and pointed to the need for ensuring support for the displaced Palestinians, who left Syria to neighboring countries, and the need to address the issues of visas and residency to Palestinians-Syrians living in Turkey. Qudsi stressed that “we look at the Palestinian as our brothers, as they are an integral part of the fabric of the Syrian society, and one of the pillars of the Syrian revolution. Qudsi also promised to communicate with the Turkish government to resolve the problems of the residencies for the Palestinians who are living in Turkey, and stressed that the problems raised by the General Commission will be tackled by the interim government.
