The Syrian Interim Government said it was working on restructuring the Ministry of Defense and the promotion of officers of the Syrian National Army.
The announcement was made during a meeting on Monday between head of the Syrian Interim Government, Jawad Abu Hatab, and the Syrian National Army’s chief of staff, Brigadier General Fadlallah al-Hajji as well as commander of the military police and head of the military judiciary.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Syrian Interim Government said that the meeting discussed restructuring the Ministry of Defense and the tour recently made by officers of the Ministry of Defense to units of the Syrian National Army.
Participants in the meeting also discussed the promotion of the Syrian National Army officers. It is expected that a decision will be made to promote dissident officers and leaders of the FSA groups in the coming weeks, the statement said.
The Ministry of Defense announced the formation of the Syrian National Army at the end of 2017. It said that the National Army’s units will deploy not only in areas north and east of Aleppo, but in all Syrian territory. (Source: Syrian Coalition’s Media Department)
