The interim Ministry of Justice has opened an office for legal affairs for the Syrians residing in the Turkish city of Gaziantep. The Ministry said that the office will provide all legal services and consulting free of charge in cooperation with the Turkish authorities. Syrians can get legal advice and services through communicating with the office or through social networking sites. The office will also give instructions for the Syrians to organize and settle their legal status, including the legal procedures related to residence documents, work permits, and housing, and everything related to their civil and personal status. Moreover, the office said it would follow up on the status of Syrians detained by the Turkish authorities and provide help and guidance and legal advice to them through civil society organizations and the Turkish authorities. The interim government’s website published the address of the office, the names and telephone numbers of the office’s staff. In a related context, the Turkish government called on the unregistered Syrian refugees in Gaziantep to apply for health care card and register their addresses before November 17th.
