The Syrian Tribal Council called on the forces taking part in Operation Peace Spring to liberate the Manbij area in rural Aleppo from the PYD militia. It stressed that the liberation of large areas east of the Euphrates River is an important step to allow the local population to manage their areas by themselves.
The Council on Sunday convened in the town of Azaz in northern rural Aleppo in the presence of commanders of the Syrian National Army and discussed the latest developments in the region.
Participants in the meeting stressed the need to liberate the region in order to rebuild it, stressing that the forces taking part in Operation Peace Spring will clear the region of all terrorist organizations and maintain security and stability.
A temporary suspension of military operations was announced a few days ago in return for the withdrawal of the PYD militia from the safe zone. The announcement was welcomed by the Syrian National Coalition which considered it a success and that it “has achieved the goals of the operation in record time and with minimal losses.”
