The Ministry of Health in the Syrian interim government set up a joint operations room in cooperation with organizations willing to offer medical support for the casualties coming from the town of Kasab in rural Latakia. The ministry’s decision came after a delegation of the ministry visited the town on Tuesday and wrote a report about the condition of the wounded in the area. The report said that there are field hospitals operating in the area, while the military zone lacks a medical center for first aid. The report also highlights the need to develop and support the existing field hospitals, and provide them with the necessary equipment. The Ministry said that medical organizations wishing to participate in the operations room can contact it through the email address: [email protected]. The visit comes as a result of fast-moving events in Kasab where the FSA liberated the border crossing town of Samra and several important military positions. The delegation of the Ministry of Health in the Syrian interim government included Deputy Minister Dr. Mustafa Haji Hamid, Dr. Muammar Hassoun, director of the Wounded and Refugees Affairs in the Ministry, and Dr. Mohammed Jarrab, adviser to the minister.
