Activists in Dara’a city said that the Assad regime air force has conducted two airstrikes on the rebel-held parts of the city. A mother and her child have been killed in rocket shelling by regime forces on the city.
After a months-long lull in aerial bombardment, regime forces have escalated barrel bomb attacks on northwestern rural Dara’a since Friday hitting the towns of Aqraba and Mashara. A civilian has been killed and many more injured in regime artillery shelling on the town of Alharra.
Head of the relief office in the town of Abtaa’ told Smart News Network that over 65% of the town’s residents fled the town as a result of airstrikes and rocket shelling by regime forces.
The FSA groups in Dara’a province, meanwhile, said that they retook a strategic army base that had fallen to regime forces on Friday. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
