Deputy Head of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG), Akram Tomah held the Assad regime responsible for tensions between the Syrian and Lebanese peoples as he condemned the violations being committed by the Hezbollah militias against the Syrian refugees in the Arsal area in Lebanon. He called on the international community to launch investigation into the violations against Syrian refugees in Lebanon and to open humanitarian corridors for Syrian refugees in the Arsal area.
At a press conference held on Monday in eastern Ghouta, Tomah condemned the Assad regime’s use of poisonous chlorine in attacks on the liberated areas and called for an international investigation into these attacks. Moreover, Tomah stressed that Assad must be held accountable for the crimes he is committing against the Syrian people.
Just like with all other truces and agreements, the Assad regime has not abided by the truce announced earlier in eastern Ghouta and that was signed in Cairo, Tomah said. He pointed out that the Assad regime forces continue to bomb the area, causing many casualties including women and children.
Tomah regretted the ongoing infighting among rebel groups as he urged them to return to the path of the revolution, fight the Assad regime and its allied foreign militias, and help achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people.
