Fatima Shaheen, the newly elected mayor of Gaziantep, said that a draft resolution is going to be submitted to the Turkish government to facilitate getting work permits for Syrian who wants to work in Turkey. Shaheen announced the decision during a meeting with Syria’s interim Prime Minister Ahmad Tomeh. The two sides also discussed the situation of Syrian refugees in Gaziantep. Shaheen pointed out that the number of Syrian refugees in Gaziantep only exceeds 200,000. “We are working to support and help them solve their problems with regard to security, housing and work,” she said.
