The Union of Syrian Democrats condemns the assassination of Mohammed Saeed Fleitani in Douma in Rural Damascus yesterday morning. “The perpetrators of this crime wanted to end Fleitani’s important contributions in promoting and strengthening the revolutionary movement in the city of Douma in East Ghouta. Fleitani was known for his national and democratic activity over the decades against the regime of corruption and tyranny. He was arrested for his activities in the Syrian revolution since its beginning in early 2011, but this did not prevent him from pursuing the objectives of the Syrian Revolution toward freedom, justice and equality.” The Union of Syrian Democrats also said that “the objectives for which Fleitani died will remain alive in our conscience and in the conscience of all Syrians seeking a better future for their country and their children. The Syrian Revolution will continue until victory and the fulfilment of its goals.” (Source: Union of Syrian Democrats)
