The Assad regime’s security forces and militias are conducting raids and house arrests in several districts of Homs city, local activists said, adding that dozens of civilians were detained, including women.
Members of the Assad regime’s intelligence services also sealed shops and detained their owners and the customers who were inside. An accountant who works in a shop was also detained along with his wife and daughter.
Assad’s militiamen also raided several shops in Homs. Activists said that the shops owners were brutally beaten and their money seized before they were left bloodied and bruised.
Activists pointed out that militiamen of the Assad regime’s Air Force Intelligence had cordoned off the Kourneesh area in central Homs last week. They arrested three women and three young men from the same family as well as an elderly man and his wife in the Ghouta neighborhood.
