As the Russian aggression on Syria entered its second year, thousands of Syrians on Friday took to the streets in many towns and villages across Syria to protest against the ongoing aggression and to show solidarity with Aleppo. Demonstrators condemned the barbaric campaign waged on Aleppo by regime forces and their Russian and Iranian allies.
Russia’s military intervention in Syria and the war crimes Russian forces are committing against Syrian civilians are mainly aimed at disrupting efforts to reach a political solution.
Demonstrations were recorded in at least 21 locations across Syria, with demonstrators holding placards condemning the Russian aggression and the Iranian military support to the Assad regime.
In the town of Azaz in northern rural Aleppo, which saw the biggest demonstration, protestors reaffirmed solidarity with Aleppo and held photos showing the devastation caused by the ongoing brutal Russian airstrikes on the city and its countryside.
Demonstrations also took place in the towns of Maaret Alnouman and Salqin in rural Idlib. Protestors hailed the steadfastness and courage shown by the people of Aleppo in the face of the ongoing Russian aggression.
Protestors also took to the streets in the towns of Talbeesa in rural Idlib, eastern Ghouta in rural Damascus, and Busra Alsham in rural Dara’a to denounce the Russian aggression on Syria, especially the deadly bombing campaign on Aleppo. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
