Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said the United Nations is incapable of making a decision in favor of the Syrian refugees.
He expressed astonishment over the UN shrinking of food aid to Syrian refugees in Turkey, pointing out that Turkey has opened its doors and welcomed Syrian refugees fleeing from the Assad regime’s brutality. “It is well known that Turkey hosts over 1.6 million Syrian refugees, some in camps while others live in the Turkish cities. Turkey has spent about $5 billion USD on Syrian refugees so far, of which only 1% was paid by UN agencies.” (Source: Syrian Coalition + Anadolu Agency)
