President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, strongly condemned the actions of racists who incite and spread hate speech and malicious rumors against Syrian refugees in Türkiye and other host countries, as well as those who perpetrate riots targeting the personal property of Syrians.
Al-Bahra also denounced the targeting of Turkish trucks inside Syria, urging Syrians in Türkiye and liberated areas to exercise self-restraint, avoid inflammatory rhetoric and actions, and resist falling into the trap of replicating the hate speech directed at them.
He emphasized the need to maintain security and stability in the liberated areas and in Türkiye, stressing that the Assad regime and terrorist organizations are the sole beneficiaries of these riots, violations, and chaos. These groups have displaced millions of Syrians from their homes and are intent on undermining the fraternal relationship between the Syrian and Turkish peoples, who have shed blood together in battles against terrorist militias.
Al-Bahra highlighted that these provocations aim to create additional obstacles for Syrians, hindering their quest for freedom, justice, dignity, and democracy, for which they have revolted and sacrificed.
He also praised the statements made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who condemned the attacks and riots, and assured that Turkish authorities are working at the highest levels to halt the violence, confront the rioters, and ensure the security and safety of citizens, refugees, and residents in Türkiye. This commitment was also reaffirmed by the Turkish Minister of Interior.
Al-Bahra expressed gratitude to the members of the Turkish government and parliament who denounced the riots and the harm inflicted on innocent people. He appreciated their tireless efforts to stop the violence and hold those responsible accountable.
