President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Hadi Al-Bahra, engaged with the residents of Burj Abdallo village in the Afrin countryside, attentively listening to their concerns and needs, particularly regarding water provision and management.
During the meeting, villagers highlighted the presence of over 240 Yazidi families alongside internally displaced individuals within the village. Emphasizing harmonious coexistence, they stressed the bonds of love shared among all residents, including those displaced.
Residents outlined challenges related to irrigation and intermittent water supply, attributing these issues to inadequate water management expertise and insufficient water reserves.
Al-Bahra conveyed Nowruz greetings to the villagers, expressing hopes for a new year marked by the realization of Syrian aspirations for freedom, justice, and democracy, including the overthrow of the Assad regime.
Addressing the SOC’s commitment to advancing northern Syria, Al-Bahra underscored ongoing efforts by executive institutions, notably the Syrian Interim Government, to enhance living standards, service provision, and bolster security, stability, and judicial authority.
Highlighting Syria’s diverse demographics and rich heritage, Al-Bahra envisioned a future state characterized by equal citizenship, adherence to the rule of law, and a democratic framework grounded in political pluralism. He pledged to advocate for local concerns with relevant authorities and collaborate on finding viable solutions.
