Hadi Al-Bahra, President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), highlighted the intensified use of suicide drones by Assad’s forces as one of the most dangerous violations against civilians in northern Syria. He emphasized that these drones are causing daily harm to civilians and their properties.
In recent months, the Assad regime and its allies have increasingly deployed suicide drones as a weapon against civilians in liberated areas hosting hundreds of thousands of displaced people. Last Thursday, the town of Al-Abzemo in the western Aleppo countryside was targeted by eight suicide drone attacks, injuring four children and two men.
Bahra pointed out that this weapon threatens stability, endangers civilian lives, and aggravates displacement amid dire humanitarian conditions.
He warned that the lack of sufficient international attention to the Syrian issue allows the Assad regime to continue operating with impunity, encouraging further crimes.
Bahra stressed the urgent need for the world to recognize that this regime, with the support of its allies, persists in committing severe violations and crimes against civilians. This ongoing violence forces Syrians to flee repeatedly, often seeking safety outside Syria to protect their lives.
