We salute the Syrian youth, the backbone of the revolution, the makers of change, and the builders of the free democratic state.
As we strongly believe in the role of Syrian youth, their enormous potential and capabilities, and their legitimate right to build a free democratic Syria, and after several workshops and seminars that focused on the major issues concerning the Syrian youth and their affairs in the liberated areas, such as education, the economy, living conditions, and political and civil activity, and which involved the participation of a wide spectrum of Syrian youth,
and in order to crystallize the results of the first and second Syrian Youth forums which were held in the liberated areas with the aim of enhancing the involvement of Syrian youth in political life, emphasizing the importance of their role in the current stage, supporting the revolutionary and political bodies, and getting rid of the effects of Assad’s rule, which was and still suppresses freedoms and sidelines the role of youth and their great potential,
today we announce the establishment of the National Youth Commission, which is an independent national institution that seeks to ensure that young people are partners and contributors to political decision-making, and an inclusive umbrella for the issues concerning the affairs of the youth and providing the community environment that cultivates and stimulates their initiatives, and working to enhance their capabilities.
The National Youth Commission will work in the liberated Syrian areas and extend bridges to all Syrian youth inside and outside Syria, so as to be act as the nucleus that guarantees the participation of Syrian youth in building a pluralistic democratic state.
