On the occasion of Easter, the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) extends its sincere congratulations to Syrian Christians and all those celebrating this occasion. Easter is an occasion to recall Jesus Christ’s message of peace tolerance, patience, and work for peace, justice and humanity.
In view of the dire conditions that we have been facing in Syria for years, the people of Syria will celebrate this holiday in exceptional circumstances arising from the Covod-19 pandemic. These circumstances need to be taken into consideration by ensuring adherence to safety precautions, especially social distancing in order to protect the family and friends from the risk of infection with Covid-19.
On this occasion, we address all Christians around the world as they celebrate this holiday to emphasize the Syrian people’s need for solidarity in their protracted suffering. We call upon lovers of peace and freedom everywhere to support the aspirations of the Syrian people and work seriously in order to exert real pressure on international politics to save the Syrian people and confront the dangers threatening their past, present and future.
We extend our best wishes to all the people of Syria for cohesion and cooperation to carry out duties, restoration of rights, release of the detainees, return of the displaced, and paving the way for a future that fulfills the aspirations of all the Syrian people.
