Over the past ten years, the Iranian sectarian militias have committed countless crimes, violations, massacres, war crimes and crimes against humanity, as well as caused massive destruction and mass forced displacement of the Syrian people. They are also recruiting young Syrians through monetary incentives and sectarian rhetoric and transferring them to training camps under the control of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Most recently, Iran has began exporting its militias from Syria to Yemen, in order to recruit them in the ranks of the Houthi group in the ongoing futile war against the Yemeni people.
The Syrian Opposition Coalition has repeatedly warned of the dangers of the Iranian plans in the region. It has also provided the international community with ample evidence on the Iranian regime’s crimes against the Syrian people and its subversive role in Syria, as well as its attempts to create chaos and instability in the countries of the region and destroy their social fabric.
Regional countries and the international community are required to take a firm position against the Russian-backed Iranian-Assad alliance in order to ensure an end to this alliance and confront the danger it poses to the Syrian people and peoples of the region.
