The Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) strongly condemns the appalling massacre perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against unarmed civilians awaiting humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. This brutal act, which resulted in the death of 112 civilians, is part of an ongoing genocide waged by the occupying forces against our Palestinian brethren.
The Israeli occupation employs starvation tactics, alongside the use of bullets and missiles, as instruments of warfare against Palestinians. This strategy capitalizes on the absence of significant international intervention to halt these atrocities, which have persisted for months at an alarming rate. Consequently, the humanitarian situation has severely deteriorated, leading to an escalated toll of innocent lives lost.
We underscore the legal and moral obligations of the United Nations Security Council and the international community at large to cease the recurrent crimes and violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and human rights perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip. We call for urgent and immediate international and Arab action to rescue our Palestinian brothers from this systematic genocide.
